New York Sour Recipes

A classic whiskey sour with a visually stunning and flavorful red wine float.

Classic New York Sour

  • Profile: Rich, Tart, Fruity

     

 

  • Ingredients:

    2 oz – Rye Whiskey or Bourbon

    1 oz – Fresh Lemon Juice

    0.75 oz – Simple Syrup

    1 Egg White (optional, for a creamy body)

    0.5 oz – Fruity Red Wine (like Merlot or Shiraz)

     

 

  • Instructions: “Dry shake” (without ice) the whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white. Then add ice and shake again (“wet shake”). Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Gently pour the red wine over the back of a spoon to create the float.
